Day 17 of Beauty--Worthy

The beauty of being worthy just as you are.

Yesterday God was really putting it on my heart that we are worthy of his love, his life, and our eternal freedom just as we are.  He died knowing that we would perform what we consider our worst decisions/moments/sins and still had so much love for us that he died for us.  Not only that, think about the most horrendous acts humans have ever performed/took a part in or could in the future take part in.  He died for them too, knowing all that he knew about people and the world he died for us all to set us free.  Knowing some of us would continue to be against him, not accept him, mock him, and be an enemy of him, he died for them too.

Wow, just to meditate on that and let that value and worth wash over you.  No matter who put nasty labels on you, no matter who treated you poorly, no matter what you've done, no matter what you're doing, he finds you worthy. You are worthy of his love.  His love transcends our understanding of love.  We are incapable of loving to the same degree, and because of that I believe we struggle with fully grasping and walking a life knowing and understanding how abundant his love is for us.

Honestly, for me continuing to meditate on that makes all the insecurities start to fade.  All the focus on self perceived flaws soften.  If he loves us so much, how does it make sense for us to channel so much hate towards our self?  Once we really start to feel the fullness of his love through continuing to seek understanding about it we will really see how worthy he declares us to be.

Romans 8:1-4 So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power[a] of the life-giving Spirit has freed you[b] from the power of sin that leads to death. The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature.[c] So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins. He did this so that the just requirement of the law would be fully satisfied for us, who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the Spirit.
